Back To Life
May 1, 2021spring is here!
We have just said ‘goodbye’ to our third set of guests since lockdown restrictions were lifted allowing The Old Dairy Dunsford to open once more. Our next guests will arrive later this afternoon and the bookings are stacking up through summer and right round until the Autumn.
It’s been so good to have guests staying again, sharing G&Ts in our spring garden (socially distanced, of course!) while catching up with regular visitors, who have become old friends, or getting to know new ones. It’s been good to see The Old Dairy come back to life with the log burner lit to cosy-up with during the frosty nights and the French windows open to see and hear the babbling River Teign during the sunny days.
The media have been talking about Spring coming late this year. That may be true, but here at The Old Dairy, we can see the trees of Bridford Wood turning greener every day. The wild garlic (young leaves are great for wild garlic pesto!) is flowering in Dunsford Wood
and all along the Teign Valley. Now bluebells are beginning to appear. There are bees in the garden and Orange Tip butterflies too. The birds are building nests; close by, there is a duck’s nest with thirteen eggs in it which we are watching in anticipation. Allegedly, swallows have already been sighted in the village! We have even seen the kingfisher fly along the river! All the signs are there…
It’s a great time to be at The Old Dairy!
